ADAM Brody has declared that he will NEVER ask a girl out on a date around his father again. This decision comes after never forgetting the time his dad embarrassed him at an audition.

The former ‘O.C’ glory insists and maintains his decision saying that he won’t be making the mistake of expanding his romantic horizons near his father in his future days.

Brody, 26, recalls the too memorable event: “Five years ago, my dad was in town and I had an audition. I was reading with this cute girl. We were leaving and I said, ‘I want to ask her number, so could you get the car and I’ll meet you?’ She came out and started talking, and my dad pulls up, honks the horn and gives me the thumbs-up. I don’t think she called me back.”

rody was also quoted about starring opposite talented ‘You’ve Got Mail’ actress Meg Ryan: “(I was like) ‘Oh man, I hope she’s not incredibly bummed that I’m not Russell Crowe or Tom Hanks.’” Haha.. Cute.

AMERICAN idol’s open and outspoken judge Simon Cowell has reportedly been left speechless whilst visiting Nairobi, Kenya earlier this year, in January, as he just couldn’t believe the devastating extent of the poverty in the region and those neighbouring it.

Cowell was in the African nation along with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest throughout the filming of the charity special of Idol titled ‘Idol Gives Back’ when the desperate circumstances forced him into a temporary state of reflection.

Seacrest was quoted on the experience stating: “The first day, we rode to a slum, and it was worse than anything I had imagined – the ground is moist with sewage, people are so sick.”He adds: “At one point, Simon just had this look on his face like he was going to be sick, and he said, ‘I’ve just got to sit down somewhere. I just can’t see anymore right now.’”

Miss Lindsay Lohan has come forward admitting that she may have been “a bit irresponsible’ on the set of her new comedy ‘Georgia Rule’, whilst filming last year. The film’s producer and her co-stars publicly reprimanded Lindsay for her rash behavior on the film set.

Last July, James G. Robinson, CEO of Morgan Creek Productions, wrote a strongly worded letter to Lindsay after she called a series of sick days, as well as late arrivals on the set. Robinson threatened legal action against the young socialite if she continued to disrupt the picture.

The letter entitled the actress as “discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional” and continued on about how her actions were those of a spoiled child which had caused her co-workers to feel alienated and “has endangered the quality of this picture.”

During an interview with magazine ‘Allure’, Lohan admitted that she wasn’t on her best behavior during the production – but she was at that time experiencing relationship problems with her now-ex-boyfriend Harry Morto. The pair ended their brief three-month relationship last September.

She says, “It upset me because I was… a bit irresponsible. I didn’t think about the consequences, but I was also going through something in my life.

‘Spider-man’ star Tobey Maguire has claimed that he will play the web-slinging superhero a 4th time – just as long as the script is right.

Maguire has denied rumours of his Spiderman retirement, confirming that plans for ‘Spider-Man 4’ are already in the works.

He says, “They’ll definitely develop a fourth movie and write a screenplay, and I would consider it if there’s a good script, a good story that I felt was worth telling and Sam Raimi was involved and the right cast came together for it.”

The Hollywood actor has also revealed that he no longer regrets being able to fly anonymously in economy class after scoring his life-changing role in the ‘Spider-man’ films, but manages to travel in 1st class for an equal price.

Maguire, 31, says, “After ‘Spider-Man 1’, I bought a ticket to somewhere, which was a coach seat. I was used to buying coach tickets. I get on the plane, everybody’s looking at me and talking to me. I was starting to feel a little self-conscious about flying in coach. People were actually showing concern that I wasn’t being compensated well for Spider-Man. I was kind of embarrassed and uncomfortable. So my solution now is I buy a coach ticket and upgrade with (air) miles.”

So you go to dinner with former President Bill Clinton and invite your brother and you stay for the whole meal; you don’t just walk right out? Right?

Well apparently not if you’re Owen Wilson.

‘VACANCY’ star Luke Wilson was left stunned whilst having dinner with Clinton, when his older brother ‘Wedding Crasher’s’ actor Owen Wilson – who had invited him to dine with the former president – got up and left halfway through the meal.

Luke states that he was even more bowled over when Clinton seemed sincerely upset not to have partied with ladies man Owen.

Luke says, “He’s [Owen] friends with a guy who’s friends with Clinton, and Owen said, ‘Do you want to go to this dinner with Clinton? There’ll just be 12 people or so.”

“So we go to the dinner and we’re sitting there and Clinton is holding court, telling these amazing stories. He was talking about going over to Jerusalem and trying to broker the Middle East peace talks.”

“And Owen leans over to me and says, ‘I’m gonna get going. I said, ‘Are you kidding, you’re going to leave the dinner? We’re halfway through, we’ve just eaten.’ And he’s like, ‘I’m just gonna try and slip out.’ I said, ‘I’m going to stay. I guess I’ll get a ride home.’

“So Owen gets up and discreetly tries to walk out the door and Clinton stops in the middle of what he’s saying. ‘Where are you going Owen, you old dog?’ And Owen got kinda uncomfortable and said, ‘Oh, I just have to go and meet somebody.’

“Clinton was like, ‘No, seriously. Where are you going? Are you going out on Sunset or what? I wanna go with you.’ And then Owen left and Clinton did seem down he hadn’t gone out with Owen.”

Hmm.. I wonder where Owen was going – perhaps to meet Miss. Hudson..

‘Sin City’ actress Jessica Alba helped play host to this year’s Step Up Women’s Network toast on Thursday. The agreeable affair was held in Forbes Penthouse Suite located at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

One of 4 women who were honoured for their deep dedication to strengthening community resources and altruistic impact in the lives of women and girls was ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Sara Rameriz.

The event, being seemingly popular with the female celebrity population, also catered to other Hollywood sensations including ‘Alias’ Australian actress Melissa George, model Devon Aoki and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ celebrity Kate Walsh.

It seems there must have been some generous air in the celebrity atmosphere on Thursday night; with the night playing host of not only the ‘Step Up Women’s Network toast’ but also The New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project Benefit Gala – a scientology run event for the rescue workers connected to the 9/11 attacks.

Aren’t celebrities quite the philanthropists these days? It seems everyone’s taking a page out of Oprah and Angelina’s book.
