Spiderman 3 premieres in Tokyo

By Honey Gillard

The Spider is coming!!!!

It seems that the countdown to the release of ‘Spiderman 3’ is almost finished, as we hear of the global premiere of “Spider-Man 3″ in Tokyo on Monday.

The films chief stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst took a walk down the red carpet for the premiere, despite the heavy rain surrounding the Tokyo arena.

The latest instalment is once again directed by film genious Sam Raimi and centres around the stories hero Peter Parker, aka Spiderman (Tobey Maguire), who has finally managed to piece together the once-broken parts of his life; maintaining a balance between his relationship with the love-of-his-life Mary-Jane (Kirsten Dunst) and his superhero responsibilities. But as expected more hurdles and challenges are placed in our hero’s path.  One of these obstructions being found in Peter’s old pal Harry Obsourne (James Franco) has set out for revenge against Peter; taking up the his late father’s persona as ‘The New Goblin’. Peter must also capture Uncle Ben’s real killer, Flint Marko, who has been transformed into his toughest foe yet, the almighty Sandman.  All hope seems lost when suddenly Peter’s suit turns jet-black and greatly amplifies his powers. But Peter soon discovers that it also begins to greatly amplify the much darker qualities of Peter’s personality and in turn he begins to lose himself to it.

Peter must reach deep inside himself to free the evil-ridding and compassionate hero he used to be if he is to ever conquer the darkness within and tackle not only his greatest opponents, but also himself.

Maguire, 31, has been reserved about whether he will be returning as Spiderman for a fourth instalment.

Maguire says, “I feel like this film is kind of a natural conclusion to a lot of stuff that’s happened in the first two movies.” He adds “It kind of feels like a natural trilogy, if a story presents itself, if we come up with something we feel deserves to be told.”

“I’m not going to make them just because they’ve been successful.”

“Spider-Man 3″ opens in Japanese theatres on May 1 and globally on May 3/4.

‘Music and Lyrics’ star Drew Barrymore’s collaboration with Australia’s ‘hulky’ Eric Bana is preparing to bring it’s lucky ways into our theatres.

While Huck’s instincts enable him to take advantage of his opponents at the poker table and expertly avoid both emotional connections and long-term commitments in his personal life, Billie uses her intuition to see the emotional truth of those around her and sympathize with their pain. When these two meet, the real game begins. If Huck is going to win Billie’s heart, he must learn to play cards the way he has been living life and live his life the way he has been playing cards. David Duchovny Asks Girl To Wed Fan

By Honey Gillard

X-FILES lead man David Duchovny has made a deal with a fan. He agreed to ask a fan’s girlfriend to marry him, but in return fiancé-to-be must screen his new film ‘The TV Set’ for a whole year.

Duchovny was attending an industry independent film festival in Las Vegas when a cinema owner accosted him with quite an odd request, handing Duchovny a ring.  The actor happily agreed to make the couple’s dreams come true, though there was a catch.

He says, “I turned to her and I said, ‘I’m not going to ask you to marry him unless you say yes, because I don’t want to be involved in that.’ She said, ‘Yes,’ and now she’s starting to hyperventilate and cry… I don’t know either of their names yet, so I say, ‘Will you marry him.’

He adds “Then I said to them, ‘Look guys, I’m not in it just for today. When I ask a woman to marry anybody I’m in it for the long haul and I wanna keep on checking up on you guys. You have to promise me that you will keep The TV Set in your theater for an entire year or else I will have it all annulled.”

Oasis member Noel Gallagher prepares to turn 40 and go solo.

noelsunglasses.jpgBy Honey Gillard

Noel Gallagher has revealed that to ring in the big 4-0 he will throw a “tyrants and despots” themed party. The Oasis architect has also played around with the idea of solo album, saying that he already has four or five tracks ready.

The Oasis singer, who will turn 40 on May 29 (my birthday J ), is said to be planning the bombastic bash and has asked guests dress as historic autocrats in jest.

“Noel has a brilliant but really dark sense of humor, as his plans show. It’s going to be a mad, mad, night.” Reveals a source.

Whilst the British rocker plans his birthday celebration rumours are circling about a possible solo album from the lad. So will he or won’t he?

Gallagher was quoted saying, “I’ve actually got a backlog of songs that are slowly building up. The thing about a solo record is the time to do one is between Oasis world tours because you’d have a good couple of years.”

“I’ve got a backlog now of about four or five songs which are probably too far in the past as far as the band in concerned, but which could work on my record.”

To go solo or not to go solo, that is the question.

Orlando Bloom gives details on Buddhism.

By Honey Gillard

ORLANDO Bloom gives ‘Details’ May 2007 issue the juicy ‘details’.

During the interview Bloom speaks of his faith in the religion of ‘Buddhism.

“The philosophy that I’ve embraced isn’t about sitting under a tree and studying my navel, it’s about studying what is going on in my daily life and using that as fuel to go and live a bigger life. When your girlfriend dumps you, when the bill comes through the door, and your mom calls you and tells you she can’t handle the stuff in her life—that’s hell, but that’s just one world. If you are aware of what is going on, then you can grow and use that hunger, that fear.”

The ‘Lord of the rings’ star reveals how he dealt with discovering that his dad was not his actual biological father:

Think about finding out when you’re 13 that your dad is not your dad. It’s like, okay, take it on the chin and keep going. No choice, really.” (His dad was anti-apartheid lawyer and activist Harry Bloom. His actual father was a friend of the family named Colin Stone.)

We all remember when Bloom was injured and told he might never walk again, and at the young age of 21.  But how did Bloom feel?

“For four days I was thinking this was it, that I would be living my life in a wheelchair, and then I thought, no, and I knew I would walk. I just knew.” Bloom reveals.

The 30-year-old, presently describes himself as “mildly dyslexic” and describes the rough times that he endured with the condition growing up.

“School was a challenge, put it that way,” he said.

On being famous Bloom reveals:

“There’s all this noise that happens. I was 22 when I got The Lord of the Rings. Nobody tells you what it is like to be famous—there’s no guidebook, you know what I mean?”

When he is questioned about his thoughts on the roller coaster ride of his career he states:

“I have the patience to trust my own journey. Life is going to unfold as it should because life always does. If I’m true to myself, then all the rest is like, f*** it, man.”

On turning 30 and for the first time in a decade having nothing to do: “Look, it all felt important, too important, but now I’m in a position to—look, I’m trying not to take myself so seriously, and in not taking myself so seriously, I think I’ll be more serious.”

The issue is to hit stands this week so get out there and read the rest of the ‘Detail’ interview.
