Singer/actress/SONGWRITER Hilary Duff is reportedly back on speaking terms with her ex-boyfriend, Good Charlotte member Joel Madden.
Last November, Madden recently left Duff devastated by ending their lengthy romance and starting one with sociolite Nicole Richie.
The 19-year-old pop starlet was left with handling the distressing matter, which ultimately led Duff into experiencing a miserable Christmas as she recovered from the split.
Duff recently met up with Madden backstage at MTV show Total Request Live and has recently stated that she now enjoys regular email correspondence from him.
She says, “Joel was my boyfriend for two years and I loved him – he was a very important part of my life… We e-mail all the time now and are at a really good place.”
Duff has also stated that though fans may express concerns that the rocker was the wrong type of guy for her l, she maintains that the Good Charlotte singer was the perfect boyfriend for her.
She continues, “People thought we were an unlikely couple, but we really weren’t that different. After two months, I didn’t even see his tattoos anymore, because that’s not who he is.”
“He used to say, ‘I don’t think there are too many people out there who really get you, but I do.’ And he did. I could be stupid, silly, funny, or crazy, and he got it.”
“He gave me a sense of confidence and independence I didn’t have before.”

Pop sensation Gwen Stefani has fired back at claims that she was just following trends by launching her own fashion line, strongly stating that being a fashion designer was a lifelong dream of hers.
The ex-‘No doubt’ singer begun her fashion line L.A.M.B back in 2003 and has been over the moon at being given the opportunity to design her very own quirky and cool clothes.

SPIDER-MAN 3 is interfering with James Franco’s studies as it is leaving him with no time to attend classes.
Late last year, Franco, who plays Peter Parker’s friend-turned-foe Harry Osborn in the Spiderman films, went back to school in order to major in creative writing at UCLA in Los Angeles, but he’s struggling to complete his studies.
The increasingly-popular actor says, “I could be done by the end of summer, but because of this movie (SPIDER-MAN 3) and the press, I’m not gonna be able to take as many classes as necessary.”
Franco now aspires to conclude his studies by the close of the year.
Also on the Spiderman 3 set, Thomas Haden Church, who plays one of many villains in the newest Spiderman, became so attached to his character, the Sandman, in the film that once filming was over he suffered a minor bout of depression.
Church says that he spent so much time and effort gaining insight and getting underneath the skin of the comic book superhero Spider-Man’s nemesis, that he strained to release the villain once filming wrapped up.
The Sideways star says, “I’m not out of that mindset yet. I know that sounds like actor bulls***, but you kind of lock into somebody, and Sandman was a very big part of me.”
“I told my fiancée, ‘Man, I kind of have this weird postpartum thing.’ “It was such an intense part of my life for the past two years.”

Imagine using a dictionary to understand your date?
Might sound strange but that is exactly what Australian singer Tina Arena has done.
Arena and her French now-husband Vincent Mancini had to use a dictionary to communicate when they started dating, as neither could speak the other’s language.
Arena, who is currently starring in the London West End production spectacular of ‘Chicago’, has revealed that there was “instant chemistry” between the pair, though there was a communication barrier which they had to overcome.
She says, “We had an instant rapport, though Vincent spoke little English and I spoke little French.”
“Despite that, we knew we had things to say to each other and we spend the next few days getting to know each other – with the help of French-English dictionaries.”
Well there’s some plug time for translation dictionaries. Haha. I guess it just shows that you can overcome anything and love turns up in the most spontaneous places, you just have got to be open to the possibility – if it’s really love it can move mountains, or in this case language barriers.
