Showcasing a stunning and flattering white dress and gold necklace, the always-beautiful Rachel Bilson struts her way down the ‘blue’ carpet at the 2007 Film Independent’s Spirit Awards.

With the end of the O.C becoming a distant memory; pouring tears from our eyes, Rachel Bilson talks about her favourite Californian moments:

“I like when I get to do things that really are embarrassing for me because it’s fun to make fun of yourself. I like the episode last year where at prom I got really drunk and fell off the stage and it was my first time doing a stunt, so I like to brag and tell people that I can do stunts because I got to fall off the stage, even though it was like a foot. The stunt girl did the fall… but I did a little of that.”

“Oh, the Spider-Man kiss of course… the Spider-Man kiss was so cool. I remember reading it when Josh wrote that script; it was really clever and it was really fun to replay that kiss. Adam, I think, threw up in his mouth a little bit, so the kiss wasn’t pleasant, but other than that it was a really cool scene. It was upside down.”
Rachel Bilson’s is preparing to add a new film to her repertoire – Jumper, which is to be released in 2008. Oh the anticipation.

SUNRISE first to awaken us with a new green feel

By Honey Gillard

1624×500y400.jpg

Channel 7 news broadcast show, Sunrise, has officially become Australia’s first greenhouse friendly TV program, as of Monday December 4.

As the environment arouses concerns around the globe, and an increasing number of citizens come to terms with the dangerous state that the environment is heading towards in the future, Sunrise has made the flick, into an eco-friendly state.

Sunrise host’s David Koch (or more commonly nicknamed Kochie) and Melissa Doyle Federal were presented by Environment Minister Ian Campbell with a certificate administered by the Australian Government’s Greenhouse Friendly™ initiative.

Adam Boland, the Executive Producer of Sunrise has spoke out on behalf of the Sunrise crew stating that they were proud of what has been achieved and that it’s a sign of things to come.

In order to reach this Greenhouse Friendly™ state, Sunrise has undergone a thorough process to verify just how many tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions are produced through its production and broadcast, across our nation. Every aspect of the show’s emissions were totalled together – taking into account all facets from lights to cameras to computers to travel.

“It would be wrong of Sunrise to report on the consequences of global warming without ourselves taking steps to fix it.” The Sunrise team announced. “They may be small steps… but they become giant leaps when other shows and business groups follow suit.”

From there the emissions are cut and further neutralised – by acts such bringing more energy aware and friendly procedures into action and purchasing annulment  –whether it be in the form of planting trees, recycling, averting waste from landfill, or renovating organic materials to compost.

Sunrise has now occupied the 7th slot on the board of products/or services in Australia that have been given the title of Greenhouse Friendly™ - though it is the first media outlet to make the green change.

This step into becoming a greener and carbon neutral show is an ingredient in Sunrise’s Cool The Globe campaign, which aims to fight global warming.

Sunrise is Australia’s number 1 breakfast show.

You can catch the ecologically aware show on Channel Seven Monday to Friday, from 6am-9am. Wanna do something good for the environment?

The Cast of ‘THE O.C’ say their final goodbyes

ocseason3banner21yx.jpg

Honey Gillard

It’s the week we’ve all been dreading – the SERIES finales of the hit FOX T.V show ‘The O.C’. In an attempt to soften the blow, I’ve compiled a list of quotes from the cast members reminiscing on those California days and on the promising finale episode EVER!

ON THE END OF THE O.C:

Rachel Bilson: “…it sort of feels like the last episode because there is all this emotion behind it and knowing you are going to be parting ways from all these people you worked with so long, so it’s bittersweet.”

Adam Brody: “Well, I think all of us have grown up a bit in certain ways. …I think when the show took off early on there were a lot of adjustments for everyone; everyone came out of their lives well and everyone is doing well, which is good…”

“It feels good, it feels really good. There is one more day left, today and tomorrow. There is a lot of work behind us.”

Ben McKenzie: “I’ll probably miss working with everyone. From the crew, to the actors, that will probably be the thing that I miss the most. It’s a very good group of people and we work well together. It’ll be a shame to have to move on. But life goes on. I have a feeling I will run into almost everyone at some point later.”

Peter Gallagher:  “I think it will be remembered for a really vibrant first season that captured a lot of imaginations around the world and gave families a chance to watch a show together — mothers and fathers and kids — that they could both enjoy and the show found at least briefly a happy marriage, between comedy and drama.”

REMINISCING ON THE PAST:

Rachel on her favourite scene:I like when I get to do things that really are embarrassing for me because it’s fun to make fun of yourself. I like the episode last year where at prom I got really drunk and fell off the stage and it was my first time doing a stunt, so I like to brag and tell people that I can do stunts because I got to fall off the stage, even though it was like a foot. The stunt girl did the fall… but I did a little of that. But that was just a fun episode — there were just so many.”

“Oh, the Spider-Man kiss of course… the Spider-Man kiss was so cool. I remember reading it when Josh wrote that script; it was really clever and it was really fun to replay that kiss. Adam, I think, threw up in his mouth a little bit so the kiss wasn’t pleasant but other than that it was a really cool scene. It was upside-down.”

Peter Gallagher: “I guess my favourite moment was the day I read the pilot script. That was very exciting. And I certainly loved singing in the second season. And you know, frankly, I have had so many good days on this show; I loved going to work; I love the cast; I love this crew; I love our directors and every day on this set sure beats working in a coal mine.

Ben McKenzie: “The first day of the pilot was kind of nutty. I showed up in the Valley and we were shooting Ryan at his old house with his mom. I think McG stopped by for like two seconds… ‘You’re going to be great, you’re going to be great’ and then ran away. It was cool. I think it was just me and Doug and I think Peter maybe worked a little with Doug Liman the director. And then Peter was in a couple scenes… it was pretty heavy stuff. It was kind of crazy. It was either sink or swim time; so thankfully it has worked out.”

Enjoy the final episodes - only 3 days.

drew-barrymore-dog-01.jpg

By Honey Gillard

Devoted dog lover Drew Barrymore has proved to the dos f Malibu, California, just how dearly she loves them.

Last Saturday, the Drew was spotted sharing the love at the Much Love Animal Rescue pet adoption event. The 31-year-old and a close female friend grabbed some drinks and chatted up a thunderstorm following the canine-appreciation event.

In early 2001, Barrymoore learnt just how beneficial dogs are and learnt to put meaning to the much used phrase ‘A dog is a mans best friend’, after her Yellow Labrador, Flossie courageously save both Drew and her at-that-time husband, Tom Green – with all three of them scraping to safety just in time.

It was reported that on the precarious day, as the clock neared 3AM, Flossie barked and ‘literally banged on their bedroom door’, after discovering the devastating fire raging in their house.

Drew’s latest film, ‘Music and Lyrics’, alongside ‘Bridget Jones’ Hugh Grant, has opened at $14 Million dollars, finishing in fourth place in the box office.

The ‘Wedding Singer’ star, who has just recently split with rock star boyfriend, Fabrizio Moretti, has claimed that she’d like to execute a bloke on screen.

Brad Pitt goes shirtless for Interview

brad-pitt-interview-magazine-011.jpg

By Honey Gillard

Hollywood’s and Angelina’s Brad Pitt recently sat down with Elvis Mitchell from Interview Magazine and here’s a little glimpse of their discussion, concentrating on the cute kiddos:

What movies do your kids want to watch over and over again? [The Adventures of] Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3D [2005] is real popular in our house.

What do they think about your movies? Oh, they don’t — they’re not really old enough. Got to keep some distance. Though I wonder what their perspective of the world is — go to the store an there are 20 cameras all fighting for a shot. They just think that wherever you go there are these random bands of crazy people with flash photography.

How do you feel about that? Truthfully, I think it’s really invasive to kids. There ought to be some kind of law.

Though there’s a good side, too — when you guys go to a place like Darfur, you get the same kind of coverage. Yeah, we drag that spotlight with us.

Brad Pitt is the face, or should I say the shirtless man of the March issue of the magazine.

Heath Ledger strikes a new chord

0538971500.jpg

By Honey Gillard

‘Brokeback Mountain’ actor Heath Ledger is establishing his very own record label - and has already signed up his first potential singing sensation - Grace Woodroofe.

Ledger has teamed up with music marvel Ben Harper to start Masses Music Co. Though the location of the company being set up in LA, may be misleading, Ledger has stretched his arm farther than Mr. Fantastic, to his original roots in Australia and has brought a singer/songwriter by the name of Grace Woodroofe from Perth, WA to LA – giving her a glimpse of the spotlight.

Grace is to be Masses Music Co.’s first client.

Last Wednesday, Ledger got to work directing and shooting Grace’s first video clip to her first song; a cover of David Bowie’s Quicksand.

Grace describes her style as ‘indie blues’ and yesterday, recorded with Ben Harper. The 17-year-old is fresh out of school and riding a wild and spontaneous rollercoaster.

Woodroofe will comeback to Perth in two weeks, in order to begin her Year 12 education. Grqace has spoke out about her recent experiences saying:

“It’s just been incredible, completely mind blowing. Heath’s really into music and he knows what he’s talking about — he’s my manager but he’s more like my big brother.”

Ledger took the young girl to Sunset Strip music institution Amoeba Records on Wednesday night, as well as inviting her to a celeb-studded party at his Hollywood Hills home earlier last week. Grace met Ledger through her schoolmate, who just happens to be Ledger’s sister. Its’s a small, small wold after all. Ledger reports that the launch of The Masses Music Co will be in the mid-year in LA, but there will be no red’carpet rollingg out. Leder’s spoksperson has claimed that Ledger wants both the label and launch to be low-key.

Celebrities come to the world’s aid, to make a ‘Live Earth’!

al_gore_i_an_inconv_100607o.jpg

By Honey Gillard

Former vice-president & star of ‘The Inconvenient Truth’ Al Gore has declared an international campaign to endorse global warming consciousness around the globe.

The Campaign, ‘Save Our Selves’ – which is pretty self-explanatory – for a Climate in Crisis is focused on Live Earth. Live Earth is a 24-hour show, which will take place on seven different continents scheduled for the 7th of July. The set list of performers is growing longer and longer, with such performers as Pharrell, John Legend, Black Eyed Peas, Fall Out Boy and Kelly Clarkson rocking up to help promote this great cause.

As the audience gathered for the announcement, actress Cameron Diaz pronounced, “This is the only issue in the history of mankind that affects every single one of us - our planet is in danger. But at least someone is doing something about it.”

Promoters of the Live Earth concerts stated that the shows would be taking place in Shanghai, China; Johannesburg, South Africa; Sydney, Australia; London and further cities to be announced in Japan, Brazil and the United States.

“We have a climate crisis that is a planetary emergency,” claimed Gore, “We have to respond. In order to that, we need to get the message of urgency and hope to billions of people around the world.”

Pharrell was also heard supporting the cause, saying, “Our atmosphere, our planet, is being abused, and we need to make this part of our daily consciousness. On July 7, you’re going to see the biggest party on earth.”

Al Gore’s movie An Inconvenient Truth is nominated for two Oscars.

All I can say is that it’s good to see celebrities using their status and power for good –they’re guaranteed to reach at least one person and everyone counts.

Miss. Christina Aguilera claimed that she is reaching for a new note – acting. The petite diva was quoted saying that she will be looking into making the tricky transition from music into film and television whilst touring the Europe and the US with her “Back To Basics” tour.  “I’ve been reading scripts for a number of years now! I really am interested in that in its own art form.” The young starlet claimed, ““While I’m on tour I will be reading scripts.” However, Christina claims that she is in no rush to jump on the bandwagon – or rather the act-wagon, saying, “I’m waiting for the right thing to come along, it’s important it’s the right role.”

Though she has yet to be seen on the big screen, she has been getting her ‘act’ together on the video clip to her brand-spanking new single, entitled ‘Candyman’ - sporting three diverse ‘Christina’ get-ups. The video clip is a throw back to World War II epoch in America. Christina commented on the video saying, “There were a lot of servicemen involved, I’m jitterbugging. It was so fun.”
