Katie Holmes will not be reprising her role as Rachel Dawes in the sequel to ‘Batman Begins’, titled ‘The Dark Knight’.

Holmes’ publicist said that “scheduling conflicts” were the reason why the actress would not be reprising her role. She added that Holmes was busy negotiating for another project, when she was approached for the role.”Katie was offered [’Dark Knight’] but was unable to accept the role because of scheduling conflicts. She was in the process of negotiating for another project,” Glitterati quoted Julie Polkes, as saying.

Polkes also claimed that the actress wanted to deal with a different role when she returns to work.

 It has not yet been reported who will replace the former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ actress, but filming is due to start later this year, with an intentive release date of July 18th, 2008.

‘The Dark Knight’ is set to star Christian Bale, once again as the legendary Batman, Heath Ledger opposite Bale as the Joker and Micheal Caine once again reprising his role as Bruce’s trustworthy butler Alfred Pennyworth.

 A US fire fighter has undergone plastic surgery in India to look like ‘Die Hard’ star Bruce Willis.

John Joseph Conway, 43, reigning from Chicago, checked himself into Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi, with a picture of his hero, Willis, in his hand.

“I am a fire-fighter. I need to look the part. I wanted to improve my jaw line. Bruce Willis has a nice, strong jaw,” he told the Hindustan Times after surgery.

A member of the medical team, who operated on Conway, Vivek Kumar, said that doctors studied Conway’s face for three whole days to give him the look that he wished for.

“After he contacted us on email, he said that as a man who jumps into burning buildings, people in the community look up to him and he needed to maintain his macho image,” Kumar told the paper.

Conway spent 1,600 dollars on three-hour-long surgery and after seeing the finished product he announced that he was satisfied with the surgery.

Conway now plans to bring his 63-year-old mother in for a facelift, costing roughly $1500, and his sister for some surgery.

The cost that the three family members would have to pay for the medical procedures, post-operative care and hospital stay would total 4,600 dollars, one-tenth of the price that it’d cost in the States.
